Oct. 2, 2004
ABILENE, Texas - Senior All-American defender Mollie Porter set a school record with five goals as Hardin-Simmons' 16th-ranked women's soccer team defeated LeTourneau 12-0 in American Southwest Conference action at Shelton Stadium on Saturday. Porter, who usually plays sweeper for the Cowgirls, has moved up front at times lately due to a couple of injuries. Her five goals topped the school record of four, which was held by four different players. Midfielders Whitney Piendak and Jacky Cox added three and two goals each as HSU scored four in the first half and eight in the second. HSU outshot LeTourneau 47-1 in the contest. The Cowgirls improved to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in ASC play. LeTourneau fell to 1-8, 1-5. |
