Sept. 30, 2006 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons extended its 75 game American Southwester Conference unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win over UT-Tyler, Saturday afternoon at the Citizens First Bank Perkins Soccer Complex. Whitney Piendak scored for the Cowgirls with a free kick from 25 yards out to give the Cowgirls the win in the 43rd minute of the game. Christi Carr had the shutout in goal for the Cowgirls. It was the freshman's second straight shutout. The Cowgirls have won eight straight games and are now 8-0-2 on the year. HSU is 6-0-0 in ASC action and will host UT-Dallas on Friday in another matchup of the perennial top teams in the ASC. UT-Tyler fell to 7-3 on the year and 5-1 in league play |
