SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' soccer teams swept a doubleheader, Saturday afternoon at Texas Lutheran University, with the men and women both moving staying undefeated in American southwest Conference West Division play with 1-0 victories. Women HSU 1, TLU 0 The Cowgirls scored the lone goal of the game in the 64th minute, when Kala Chalman made a great one-on-one play and found the back of the net unassisted. Rachel Goold pitched a shutout in goal, recording three saves. HSU outshot TLU 21-8 in the game. With the win the Cowgirls improve to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in ASC West play. Texas Lutheran fell to 5-3-1 overall and 2-1. The win gave the Cowgirls outright possession of first place in the ASC West and the winner of the West gets to host the conference tournament. |
