Sept. 27, 2002 ABILENE, Texas - Laura Freeman's first goal of the season sent the Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team to victory over Schreiner 2-1 in American Southwest Conference action Friday at Shelton Stadium. Diana Bosch, ASC West Offensive Player of the Week, set the ball up for Freeman, sophomore midfielder and forward for the Cowgirls, to shoot directly into the goal in the 66th minute of the game. Bosch scored HSU's first goal of the game during the 23rd minute. Schreiner's goal came from freshman forward Angelica Ramirez at the sixth minute. The Cowgirls out shot Schreiner 30-5 and had 17 corner kicks in the game. HSU moves to 2-0 in ASC action and 5-2-1 overall and Schreiner drops to 1-1-1 in conference play and 3-4-1 overall. The Cowgirls return to action on Saturday when they host Texas Lutheran in conference play at 2 p.m. at Shelton Stadium. |
