Cowgirls Move to 2-0 in ASC West

KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference action with a road win at Schreiner University in Kerrville on Friday afternoon.

The Cowgirls scored five second-half goals for a 5-0 win. Whitney Piendak got the Cowgirls on the board in the 50th minute of an assist from Stefanie Patterson. Mindi Zamora then fed Patterson for a goal nine minutes later.

Cathy Castagnos, Rebecca Neal and Brittany Enriques all added goals.

Rachel Goold played the first 70 minutes in goal, before giving way to April Johnson. HSU outshot SU 33-3.

With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in ASC West play. SU fell to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in league play. HSU will play at Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the outright possession of first place in the ASC West.
