ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' 17th-ranked women's soccer team defeated NAIA UT-Permian Basin, 11-0, Tuesday evening at Shelton Stadium to move to 4-1 on the year. The Cowgirls scored early and often en route to their third straight rout. HSU has scored 40 goals in its last three games and have outshot opponents in that span 168-5. Whitney Piendak, Marissa Wichkoski, Mindi Zamora and Cathy Castagnos each had two goals for the Cowgirls and Kelsey Jensen, Kala Chalman and Beth Craig added single tallies. Zamora had three assists and Piendak and Craig had two each. Rachel Goold and April Johnson split time in goal but did not see a shot on goal. HSU improved to 4-1 on the year and UT-Permian Basin fell to 1-8. HSU travels to Texas Lutheran on Friday for an American Southwest Conference tilt with the Lady Bulldogs. |
