ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' 20th-ranked women's soccer team opened its American Southwest Conference season with a scoring fest in a 10-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor at Shelton Stadium. The Cowgirls scored five goals in each half. Mindi Zamora and Cathy Castagnos each had three goals for the Cowgirls. Kelsey Jensen, Mollie Porter, Marissa Wichkoski and Whitney Piendak added single tallies for the Cowgirls. HSU outshot the Crusaders 49-3. HSU improved to 2-1 on the year and 1-0 in ASC play. Mary Hardin-Baylor fell to 1-3 and 0-1 in ASC West play. HSU hosts Concordia-Austin at 2 p.m. on Saturday. |
