Sept. 17, 2002 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team defeated cross-town rival McMurry, 15-0, in its American Southwest Conference women's soccer opener Tuesday night at Shelton Stadium. Alyssa Wester, M.J. Pearl, Diana Bosch, Jessica Stockton, and Jacque Scott all scored two goals each for the Cowgirls. Laura Freeman led the team with five shots and four shots on goal while Bosch led the team with two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Goold tied an HSU record with her 15th career shutout. HSU moves to 4-1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference, while McMurry drops to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in ASC play. |
