ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won its second straight game with a 6-1 pounding of Houston Baptist, Monday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex. Mindi Zamora scored the first of her two goals in the seventh minute on an assist from Amy Kuykendall. The Cowgirls made it 2-0 in the 14th minute when Regan Cappella served it in and Jordan Morley beat the keeper. Whitney Piendak made it 3-0 in the 16th minute with a shot on a direct kick from the top of the box. Alison Baker made it 4-0 in the 44th minute when she scored off a corner kick. Amy Bolt scored 24 seconds later on the Huskies only shot of the game. HSU outshot HBU 32-1 in the game. Piendak and Zamora scored forty seconds apart at 72:44 and 73:24. HSU is now 2-0-2 on the year and will travel to Texas Lutheran and Schreiner this weekend to open conference play. |
