Kuykendall Scores Four Times; Zamora Sets Assist Record as Cowgirls Roll

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' freshman forward Amy Kuykendall scored four goals and Mindi Zamora set the school assist record as the Cowgirl soccer team rolled past Austin College, 7-1, Friday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

Kuykendall scored in the 12th, 20th, 30th and 55th minutes. Zamora assisted on two of the goals and also set up teammate Whitney Piendak on the first of two goals for Piendak. Zamora also added her first goal of the season on an assist from Kuykendall.

Zamora now has 37 career assists, which moves her past Diana Bosch's old record of 35. Zamora and Piendak are now tied for third all-time with 39 goals each.

Austin College scored in the 73 minute on a Helen Heres goal.

Freshman Christi Carr was solid in goal for the Cowgirls making two saves in her 67 minutes of action. Ashley Jackson finished the game in goal for HSU.

The Cowgirls moved to 1-0-2 on the year and Austin College fell to 2-1-0. HSU will host Houston Baptist on Monday at 1 p.m. at the HSU Soccer Complex.
