SAN ANTONIO, Texas -
Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought game with regional-rival Trinity, 1-0, at the Trinity Soccer Complex in San Antonio.
The Cowgirls had several chances to get on the board early in the game, including a pair of corner kicks that just missed. Senior goalkeeper kept the Tigers at bay with seven saves in the first half, including a pair of highlight reel plays.
Trinity got on the board in the 72nd minute on a shot by Heather Foote. The play started on a corner which the Cowgirls knocked away, but a mistouch allowed Foote to stripe a clean goal from about 18 yards past a diving Goold.
HSU played the game without All-American sweeper Mollie Porter, who was tending to a family medical emergency and Whitney Piendak, an All-ASC midfielder who is out with an ankle injury.
HSU fell to 1-1, while Trinity improved to 2-0.
