Kuykendall Scores Twice as Cowgirls Beat Southwestern, 2-1

GEORGETOWN, Texas - All-American forward Amy Kuykendall scored two goals in the first half and HSU's defense was solid the rest of the way as they defeated Southwestern 2-1, Saturday afternoon in Georgetown.

Kuykendall scored in the eight minute on a pass from Jordan Morley. She scored again in the 34th minute on a Julie Woolverton assist. Southwestern scored their only goal of the game in the 88th minute on a penalty kick.

Christi Carr was again solid in net stopping seven shots. The Cowgirls outshot the Pirates 16-9 in the match.

The fourth-ranked Cowgirls are now 2-0 on the young season.
