Expected to be one of the top sweepers in the nation as a senior. 2006: Came on strong to be a force late in the year and was named to the all-region team. She led the Cowgirls defense at sweeper, that allowed only 17 goals on the year. Also was a big weapon on corner kicks as she scored seven goals off of set pieces. Named first-team all-ASC and academic all-ASC and was an academic all-district selection. 2005: Started at sweeper for the Cowgirls and played in 19 games, starting 18. Had four goals and two assists. Transferred from the University of Montana, where she started two games as a freshman. Was a four-year member of the California North State Olympic Development Team and was on the ODP U17 Regional Pool team. 2005: Played in 19 games and started 18, with four goals and two assists. Personal: Daughter of Dee Ann Newbrough and Mark and Jill Newbrough. Has two brothers. Bryan and Raef and two sisters, Andrea and Lauren. Social Work major. Born Feb. 26, 1985. Chose HSU over the Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Dartmouth, Loyola Marymount, Fresno State and the University of the Pacific. Her dad Mark was a quarterback at the University of Arizona and her brother Bryan was a free safety at the University of San Diego.
