TEMPLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team improved their second-round score by 45 shots and finished eighth overall at the Lady Crusader Invitational in Temple, Texas.

The Cowgirls opened the tournament with a 402 in the opening round on Monday, but took advantage of ideal scoring conditions for a closing-round 357. The tournament concluded the fall season for the Cowgirls.

Individually, Salem Mitchell led the Cowgirls with a 96-82-178. She was followed by Hilary Gibson 98-89-187, Leslie Glazener 99-92-191, Mandy Humphreys 109-94-203 and D'Anna Davis 117-111-228.

St. Mary's University won the tournament with a 641. Jillian Wyne of St. Mary's won the individual title with a 77-70-147.
