May 9, 2007 HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Hardin-Simmons' senior golfer Kristi Martin moved up to a tie for 17th place after the second round of the Division III Golf Championships at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Martin followed her 83 in the first round with an 82 and she sits at 165 for two rounds. The leader of the tournament is Katie Dick of Methodist, who is +3 for the tournament with a 149 on the par-73 course. Martin is within four strokes of the top 10. Methodist also leads the team race by 47 shots over Southwestern. Martin had a quadruple bogey-7 on the par-3 second hole, but responded with a solid round of 13 pars, three bogies and a double bogie. She played the backside in three-over par. The top 20 players in the 111-player field earn All-American status. The tournament is a 72-hole event and will resume on Thursday. |
