BELTON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' golf teams are in sixth and eighth place respectively after one round of the Mary Hardin-Baylor Spring Invitational, Monday at UMHB.

The Cowgirls are in sixth place after one round at the Mill Creek Country Club in Salado. Kristi Martin and Whitney Mitchell are leading the way for the Cowgirls with 87's in the first round. They are tied for 10th overall.

Chandra Hayes shot a 94 and Lauren Schaub shot 105. DeLane Griffith shot 106. The Cowgirls shot 373 as a team.

Southwestern leads the women's tournament with a score of 335. The Pirates Delilah Dominguez leads the medalist race with an 81.

In the men's tournament, J.C. Eagle leads the way for the Cowboys with a 79. Paul Schaub, Michael Weehunt and Travis Brown each shot 81 for HSU and Davey Davis fired an 84. HSU shot a 322 at the Wildflower Country Club in Temple.

McMurry leads the tournament with a 294. Rode McElrath leads the medalist play with a 70.
