Cowgirls Finish 11th

TEMPLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team improved 11 shots on its first round score and finished 11th out of 20 teams at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at Wildflower Country Club in Temple.

The Cowgirls were led by Kristi Martin, who shot an 82-79--161 to finish tied for 11th place in the individual race. Chandra Hayed 84-85-169, Lauren Williams 92-90-182, Andra Boxberger 95-97-192 rounded out the two-day lineup. Salem Mitchell shot an 88 on Tuesday after withdrawing from Monday's first round.

St Mary's won the tournament with a 622. HSU's two-day total was a 353-342-695. The total was better than six Division III schools in the tournament. Mary Hardin-Baylor won the Division III title with a 651. Gustavus Adolphus finished second and Trinity third in the Division III section of the tournament. The Cowgirls were fourth.

Jessica Travis 95-94-189 and Kristin King 109-108-217 competed as individuals for the Cowgirls.

The tournament rounded out the Cowgirls' fall schedule.
