TEMPLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team fell on spot to ninth place in the final round of the Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational at Wildflower Country Club in Temple. Southern Nazarene University's 328-318=646 total won the team event. Oklahoma Baptist finished second with a 334-315=649, Southwestern University claimed third place at 327-325=652 and Northwood University took fourth place with a 326-335=661. Mary Hardin-Baylor was fifth. Lon Morris finished sixth with a 345-336=681, Newman University was seventh with a 340-345=685, Tyler Junior College claimed eighth with a 356-343=699, Hardin-Simmons was ninth with a 350-356=706 and Trinity University rounded out the top 10 at 353-360=713. McMurry University finished 11th at 363-370=733, U.C-Santa Cruz was 12th with a 373-366=739, Southwestern College took 13th at 375-370=745, LeTourneau University finished 14th with a 382-364=746 and Texas Lutheran University was 15th at 396-395=791. Jennifer Butler of Southern Nazarene won the individual title after shooting 77-75=152 to finish four strokes ahead of Northwood's Karen Ehlers (76-80=156). Andra Boxberger led the Cowgirl contingent with an 84-88-172, followed closely by Kristi Martin's 88-85-173. Chandra Hayes 88-91-179, Megan Bennett 90-92-182 and Andrea Conley 95-95-190 rounded out the HSU lineup. Kate Moss shot 91-89 and Shelby Harp 98-97 playing as individuals for the Cowgirls. The tournament closed out the fall season for the Cowgirls. |
