SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team has its best tournament in two seasons as they posted a two-day 679 to finish fourth at the par-72, 5,811-yard Chaparral Country Club at the Texas Lutheran Lady Bulldog Fall Classic in Seguin, Texas.

HSU, which shot a team best round of 386 last season, shot a 343-336 to finish fourth out of 10 teams. Defending national runner-up Mary Hardin-Baylor won the event with a 635.

Freshman Kristi Martin led the Cowgirls with an 83-81--164. Salem Mitchell (82-85--167), Chandra Hayes (90-85--175), Andra Boxberger (90-85--175) and Lauren Williams (88-88--176)rounded out the Cowgirl lineup. Megan Bennett shot a 90-92--182 as an individual.

The Cowgirls will return to action Monday at Tarleton State.
