RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team received an opening round 80 from freshman Ashley Luecke in her first collegiate round pacing a team total of 360 and the Cowgirls are two strokes behind Mary Hardin-Baylor in the first round of the UT-Dallas Lady Comet Invitational at Caney Creek Country Club in Richardson.

Luecke's 80 put her in first place by one stroke over UMHB's Taylour Shaw. Cowgirl veterans Whitney Mitchell and DeLane Griffith shot 91 and 92 respectively to post rounds in the top 10. Freshman Caitlin Raymond shot a 96 and freshman Bethany Hartsfield shot 104 in their collegiate debuts to round out the lineup.

Heather Hambrick shot 92 and Sara Parker 105 playing as individuals for the Cowgirls, separate of the team score.

The final round will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes.
