SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the Lady Bulldog Fall Invitational, which is being played at the par-72, 5,800-yard Chapparal Golf Course in Seguin. The Cowgirls two veterans Kristi Martin and Chandra Hayes are each in the top 10 of the tournament. Martin shot a 75 and is in fourth place. Hayes is in sixth place after shooting a 76. Whitney Mitchell shot a 85 in her first tournament as a Cowgirl. Andrea Conley shot an 87 and Lauren Williams shot 90 for the Cowgirls. Megan Bennett shot 85 playing as an individual. Southwestern University is in first place after shooting a 312. St. Edward's is in second place with a 315 and the host Texas Lutheran is third with a 318. Elizabeth Reed of St. Edward's shot a 73 to lead the medalist race. The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday. |
