Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team closed out its run at the Division III NCAA Golf Championships with a 10th-place finish on the demanding Links Course at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake, Wis.
The Cowgirls had their toughest round of the tournament as they struggled to a 383 team total. Only 13 of the 60 players in the field were able to shoot lower than 85 on the final day of the Championship.
Chandra Hayes led the Cowgirl contingent with a 90 to give her a four-day total of 356. Kristi Martin led the Cowgirls in the tournament with a a 353. Megan Bennett finished with a 372, Andra Boxberger shot 304 and Salem Mitchell fired a 100 on Friday, but did not register an individual score for the week after withdrawing from the second round.
Methodist College won its seventh straight title holding off Mary Hardin-Baylor by two strokes. Brittany Cary of McMurry won the individual title with a 22-over 314, by two strokes over her nearest competitor.
