HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Hardin-Simmons senior golfer Kristi Martin posted a 78 and moved to a tie for 17th place at the Division III Women's Golf Championship in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.

Martin started on the back nine and played the back one under par, with a par of birdies and a bogey. A five-over finish on the last five holes moved her down the leaderboard, after she reached as high as ninth.

The final round of the tournament will begin on Friday.

The National Golf Coaches Association handed out its awards at the tournament and two girls received honors. Martin was named to the All-West first team and was an honorable mention All-American selection by the group. She still has a chance of being an NCAA All-American with a top 20 finish.

Freshman Whitney Mitchell was also named to the All-West region team.
