McKINNEY, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is in third place at the American Southwest Conference Championship at Stonebridge Golf Course in McKinney.

Texas Lutheran leads seven-time defending champion Mary Hardin-Baylor by three strokes. TLU shot a 331 and UMHB shot 334. HSU is 21 strokes backs after shooting 352. McMurry is in fourth place with a 357, LeTourneau shot 373 and UT-Dallas is in sixth place with a 437.

Whitney Mitchell led the Cowgirls with an 83. She is tied for sixth-place in the individual race. Jenna Felechner of UMHB shot a 76 to lead the individual race.

DeLane Griffith shot an 88 in her first round and defending ASC medalist Kristi Martin shot an 89, leaving her 13 shots off the lead in her repeat try. Chandra Hayes shot a 92 and Lauren Schaub had a 97 for the Cowgirls throw away score.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
