KERRVILLE, Texas - Kristi Martin fired an 81 but the Cowgirls slipped to third place in the final round of the American Southwest Conference Championship on Tuesday at Comanche Trace Golf Course in Kerrville.

Martin (86-81--167) finished in fifth place to earn first-team All-American Southwest Conference honors. Holly Glove of Mary Hardin-Baylor ran away with the medalist race with a 73-76-149. The Crusaders won the team title with a 323-315--638. McMurry was seond with a 358-337--695 and the Cowgirls were third with a pair of 358's for a 716.

Freshman Kate Moss shot an 87-93-180, Chandra Hayes shot 92-93--185, Andra Boxberger posted a 94-91--185 and Megan Bennett had a pair of 93's.

HSU will await word from the NCAA to see if they earned a bid into the NCAA Tournament.
