LONGVIEW, Texas - Kristi Martin won a three-way playoff on the first hole to win medalist honors at the LeTourneau Classic at the Pinecrest Golf Club in Longview.

Martin won the playoff against Paige Cohick of Trinity and Marissa Mauldin of Southwestern. Martin shot the low round of the day with a 76 after shooting an 81 in the first round to have a two-round total of 157.

The Cowgirls placed fourth as a team with a two-day total of 697. Southwestern won the event with a 658, Mary Hardin-Baylor shot a 679 for second place and Texas Lutheran was third with a 682.

Other individuals for the Cowgirls included Whitney Mitchell who shot an 87-86--173 to place 13th overall. Chandra Hayes shot 89-93-182, DeLane Griffith shot 97-88-185 and Lauren Schaub shot 103-99-202 to round out the scoring.

The Cowgirls will compete in the ASC Golf Championships next week at Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney.
