GEORGETOWN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team fired its best round of the spring with a 359 and are tied with McMurry for second place at the Berry Creek Invitational.

Krist Martin toured the par-72 course in 86 shots, good for a tie for fifth place. Chandra Hayes shot a 90, Kate Moss a 91 and Andra Boxberger a 92 for the Cowgirls four counting scores. Megan Bennett shot a 95 for the throw out score and Jessica Travis shot a 93 playing as an individual.

NCAA runner-up Mary Hardin-Baylor fired a 323 to take the team lead. Trinity was fourth at 375 and Southwestern was fifth at 394. The tournament will be a good indicator for who will receive the two bids in the region for the NCAA Tournament.

The teams will finish on Tuesday with 18 holes.
