JEKYLL ISLAND, Georgia -- Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team finished 11th overall with a two-day, three-round composite score of 1055 at the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational which was played at the par-72, 5,807 layout at Jekyll Island, Georgia on March 25-26.

Berry College, a NAIA school from Georgia, won the team-title with three rounds of 330-310-327 to finish at 967, which were ten strokes ahead of second-place, Division I school, Harvard University. Savannah College of A&D fired rounds of 337-337-333 to come in at third. University of St. Thomas and Depauw University rounded out the top five with composite scores of 1017 and 1023 respectively.

The Cowgirls faired well in the Invitational with rounds of 358-359-338 to barely finish out of the top ten at the 11th position. Junior Kristi Martin led the Cowgirls with rounds of 87-86-80 to finish at 253, good enough to place 17th individually.

Andra Boxberger finished second on the team and in a tie for 34th with a three round total of 261. Finishing third with rounds of 88-93-85 and a total of 266 was Chandra Hayes. Andrea Conley, two-day total of 284, and Megan Bennett's 286 rounded out the individual scores for the Cowgirls.

HSU returns to action on April 10-11 when they play in Round Rock at the Southwestern Invitational.
