SALADO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team improved one spot in the standings in the final round to finish in sixth place at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Spring Invitational, that was held at the par-73, 5,816-yard layout at Mill Creek Golf Course in Salado.

Oklahoma City won the team title running away as they had the top four scorers in the tournament. They shot rounds of 304 and 321 for a 625 total, 56 shots better than second place Redlands Community College. Lubbock Christian (689), Southwestern (701), McMurry (716) rounded out the top five.

The Cowgirls had rounds of 364 and 369 to finish with a 733 total. Freshman Ashley Luecke led the Cowgirls with a two-round total of 169 with rounds of 82 and 87. She was the low-scoring Division III player in the field and tied for eighth in the medalist race.

Whitney Mitchell shot a 87-91-178, Heather Hambrick improved nine strokes over Monday with a 93 and two-round 195, DeLane Griffith shot 93-104-197 and Addie Vest improved five strokes from 103 to 98 to record a 201.
