ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team will return to the hardwood with a New Year's Eve matinee at Texas Wesleyan University, Friday at 2 p.m. on the TWU campus in Fort Worth.

The Cowgirls look to build on its two-game winning streak. HSU is 7-1 on the season and are ranked ninth in the latest D3Hoops.com poll. TWU is 7-5 on the year.

It could be a milestone game for senior guard Diana Martinez. She needs five assists to break the school record for assists in a career. She currently has 349 and needs five to pass Terri Rogers and Kelly McClure, who share the record with 353.

Sophomore center Melissa Henley has stepped up her production in the last two games, after teammate Magna Green injured her knee. She scored 20 and 28 points in the last two games.
