Dec. 15, 2002 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's and women's basketball teams will hit the floor for a Monday matinee at the Mabee Complex with the women's game against UT-Dallas at 1 p.m. with the men to follow at 3 p.m. The games are set for the afternoon to let the player's get home for the Christmas Holiday a day earlier. HSU's final exams ended last Friday. The sixth-ranked Cowgirls will look to remain perfect after winning their first six games by an average of 30 points per game. The Comets come in with a 2-3 overall mark and are led by Jules Waller's 16.2 points per game. HSU is led by Kendra Anderson at 15.7 ppg. Lauren Harris (13.5) and KraTaura Buckner (10.5) each average double figures for Shanna Briggs' squad. Dyaln Howard's Cowboys will look to break a four-game losing streak. HSU beat UT-Dallas in the season opener in Richardson on Nov. 25. Bryan Conover led the way for the Cowboys with 26 points and 14 rebounds and had a game-winning 3-point play late in overtime in the 66-64 win. Conover leads the Cowboys with a 14.8 point per game average. UT-Dallas is 0-5 on the season. The games will be both teams last until Dec. 2 when ASC Crossover play continues. |
