HSU-McMurry Set For Saturday Night

HSU-McMurry

Dec. 7, 2007

ABILENE, Texas -

Hardin-Simmons' basketball teams will make the trip across town to take on rival McMurry, Saturday evening at Kimbrell Arena. The Cowgirls will play at 5:30 followed by the Cowboys at 7:30. If you can't be at the game, you can listen on the Internet at www.hsuathletics.com.

The women's game will have a little extra spice as both teams come into the game undefeated in conference play. McMurry is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in ASC play and the Cowgirls are 3-1 overall and 2-0 in league action. McMurry is coached by Veronica Snow, who for the last five years have been a professor in the HSU Fitness and Sports Sciences Departments.

The Cowgirls are led by Rachel Cisneroz and her 15.8 points per game. HSU is one of the most athletic teams in school history and 11 players are playing eight minutes or more per game.

The men's game will be interesting in the fact that the game has become a bigger rivalry with the Cowboys recent success. McMurry is also coming in with a two-game home court losing streak for the first time since 2005.

HSU is 2-3 on the year and 1-1 in league play. McMurry is 3-2 on the year and 0-2 in league play.
