Anderson Selected To Play in WBCA All-Star Game



Anderson Named Division IIIs Top Player

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons senior forward Kendra Anderson has been named the Women's Basketball Coaches Association/State Farm Division III Player of the Year and will play in the WBCA All-Star Challenge April 4 at the Division I Final Four in Atlanta. Ga.

"This is a great honor," said Anderson. "My teammates get all the credit because I couldn't have done anything without them. I look forward to playing against some of those Division I players. It's a dream come true."

Anderson averaged 20.1 points and 10.0 rebounds this season and led the Cowgirls to their first Division III No. 1 National ranking. The Cowgirls who went 27-1 and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the fourth straight season. She scored a season-high 33 points and hauled down 10 rebounds in the Cowgirls season-ending loss to Trinity.

Anderson has picked up numerous honors this season including being named the American Southwest Conference MVP for the third straight year. She was also named All-Region and will likely be named All-American at this week's Division III Final Four. She was also named Academic All-American.

Along with being named player of the year she will get to play in the All-Star Challenge with 17 Division I All-Stars and the player of the year in Division II and NAIA.
