ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team was sent to the Wisconsin-Steven's Point for the sectional round of the NCAA Division III Championship. The winner of the four team sectional advanced to the Final Four in Virginia Beach, Va.

The Cowgirls will play Eastern Mennonite (25-3) in the next round. HSU won its game over Maryville on Saturday night. 96-72 in the second round in Abilene. EMU advanced with a buzzer-beating win over Christopher Newport, 63-62.

HSU is 26-2 on the year and have advanced to the Sectional Round for the sixth straight year. They are the only active team to accomplish this feat in Division III Women's Basketball.

The game time for Friday night's game will be announced on Monday. The winner will play the winner of the Washington (Mo.)/Wisconsin-Stevens Point game on Saturday. The games can be heard on KAGT 90. FM in Abilene or on the Internet at www.hsuathletics.com.
