ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' top-ranked women's basketball team was awarded a first round bye in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.

The Cowgirls will play the winner of Wednesday's first round game between Meredith (N.C.) and Randolph-Macon (Va.). Game time is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Mabee Complex.

HSU is 26-0 on the season and ranked No. 1 in the South Region and No. 1 in the nation by the ESPN/USA Today/Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Tickets for the event will go on sale Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Mabee Complex. Prices for the tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for general admission and $3 for students.
