RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' senior guard Diana Martinez was named first team All-ASC and head coach Shanna Briggs was named ASC West co-coach of the year to highlight the ASC Awards for the women's basketball team.

Martinez was named first-team All-ASC and first-team All-ASC West Division. It was the second time in her career she earned first team honors. Martinez finished her career with 1,216 points, 510 rebounds, 440 assists and 283 steals. She was the school's all-time leader in assists and second finished second in steals. For the season she averaged 15.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

Sophomore post Melissa Henley was named to the second-team All-West Division team and Lyssa Dennard was named honorable mention All-ASC West Division. Henley averaged 14.0 and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Briggs led a young squad to a 22-4 record and won the American Southwest Conference West Division for the seventh straight season to claim co-coach of the year honors.
