RICHARDSON, Texas - For the first time in ASC history Hardin-Simmons did not have a player on the first team All-ASC team, but four Cowgirls were honored on other teams in voting done by the league's coaches.

Juniors Melissa Henley and Sonya West each were named to the All-ASC West Division and Shelby Hodges and Lyssa Dennard earned honorable mention All-ASC accolades.

West was honored for the third time in her career and Henley was named second-team for the second straight season.

Howard Payne's Meia Daniels was named the MVP of the West Division, Danielle Furr of Sul Ross State was named the defensive player of the year Shannon Barnes of Mary Hardin-Baylor was the newcomer of the year and Sam Nichols of McMurry earned the coach of the year honors.
