Feb. 25, 2004 SALEM, Va. - Hardin-Simmons senior forward Lauren Harris was named a finalist for the Josten's Trophy, which recognizes the Division III Student-Athlete that is the most well-rounded in athletic ability, academic prowess and community service. Harris, who leads the Cowgirls with 16.2 points per game, has led the Cowgirls to a 23-2 record and their sixth straight American Southwest Conference West Division title. Harris is the school's all-time leader in 3-pointers made in a game (9), season (76) and career (209). It marks the second straight year the Cowgirls have had a finalist. Kendra Anderson was a finalist for the award last year. The finalists include Melody Bongioron (Chapman), Liz Martine (New Jersey), Kay Mikolajczak (U-Oshkosh), Tara Rausch (Wilmington), Katie Robinson (Swarthmore), Hayley Smith (Maryville, Tenn.), Becca Sparth (UW-Eau Claire), Rachael Turkngton (Clark), Tiffini Varrasse (King's). The Rotary Club of Salem, Va. Will present the award on Thursday, March 18th in conjunction at the Final Four. |
