Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team will conclude the regular season with a pair of games on the road, beginning Thursday at Mary Hardin-Baylor and Saturday at Concordia-Austin. HSU soundly beat both teams in the first meeting in Abilene in January...UMHB is one of the hottest teams in the league, having won three straight and they are 8-5 after an 0-10 start to the season...If the ASC Tournament, started this weekend the Cowgirls would play the University of the Ozarks in the 5:30 game on Friday in Clinton, Miss. HSU would be the No. 2 seed out of the West if they remained tied with Howard Payne, as it owns the tiebreaker between the two teams. It would put the Cowgirls in the same side of the bracket as Mississippi College...Junior point guard Sarah Hauk will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. She tore it against Sul Ross State. Rachel Cisneroz replaced her in the starting lineup on Saturday and had a career-best eight assists...HSU was ranked fourth in the first south region rankings of the year last week, but four of the top five teams in the rankings lost...Melissa Henley is closing in on 1,000 career points with 912. She could reach the milestone in the ASC Tournament with a strong finish to the season.
