Senior Terri Robinson

Feb. 11, 2003

ABILENE, Texas - Senior point guard Terri Robinson is averaging 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game this year. Her best game of the season so far was last weekend against Schreiner on the road. Robinson hit six-of-nine field goals and shot four-for-four from the free throw line. She set a new personal season and career record of 16 points in a game. Robinson recently sat down for a brief question and answer session.

How do you think Coach Briggs is dealing with her first year coaching at Hardin Simmons? I think she is doing a good job. She knows a lot about basketball and is a competitor. She works hard at many things such as recruiting so we can have a great team next year.

How is this year's team different from your last three year's playing at Hardin-Simmons? This year we are a lot closer off the court which helps the team on the court.

Are you a team player or a leader on the team? I feel I am more of a leader on the team but I try to be both.

What are your strengths on the court? I feel my strengths are during the game seeing the floor and finding an open person to pass the ball to.

What do you concentrate on during a game? During the game as a team we concentrate on defense. It is very important to always be aware of the other players on the team and what they do.

What gets you motivated before or during a game? I am always excited and I try to pump my teammates up by encouraging them.

How do you feel about conference action so far? I feel we are doing really well in conference action. We can't let up our intensity these next couple of games. We just need to take care of business at home and on the road.

Which ASC schools are HSU's competition for the playoffs? I feel Howard Payne and Mary Hardin-Baylor are our competition going into the playoffs. They have always been our rivals these last three years. We keep on getting better and so do they.

Are you meeting your personal goals you set in the beginning of the season? . My personal goal in the beginning of the season was to have better team communication on and off the court. I feel I am doing my part to make our team unified.

What can we expect for the rest of the season from you and the team? You can expect for us to work hard to improve every game. We are dedicated to this program and are motivated to make it farther in the playoffs this year.

What is your favorite memory about playing at Hardin-Simmons? My favorite memory is last year against Howard Payne I hit the game winning shot.

How is balancing being a student-athlete during basketball season? It is hard sometimes, but I try to mange my time wisely. The professor's work with you and their support is incredible.

What are your plans after Hardin-Simmons? I plan to go to Physical Therapy school, obtain my doctorate and then become a Physical Therapist.
