Cowgirls Roll at TLU

SEGUIN, Texas - Texas Lutheran scored the first basket of the game, but after that it was all Hardin-Simmons in a 90-37 American Southwest Conference win Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gym in Seguin.

The Cowgirls substituted liberally throughout the game and the starters played just 14 minutes. All 14 Cowgirls scored and freshman post Erin Hohmann led a balanced attack with 12 points. Rachael Singletary had 11 points and Laci Walker added 10 points. Nine players had six or more points in the game.

HSU forced 34 turnovers and limited the Bulldogs to 27.1 percent shooting. The Cowgirls won the battle of the board 51-26.

HSU had a 15-0 run in the first half to take a 17-3 lead and never TLU was never in the game after that. HSU led 51-17 at the break.

With the win the Cowgirls improved to 18-4 on the year and 16-3 in ASC West action. Texas Lutheran fell to 1-22 overall and 1-18 in league play. The Cowgirls host Concordia-Austin on Thursday at the Mabee Complex.
