ABILENE, Texas - A pair of seniors on the women's basketball team have been named to the College Sports Information Director's of America/ESPN the Magazine College Division academic all-district team as voted on by the Sports Information Director's in the district.

Lyssa Dennard was named to the first team with a 3.71 grade point average in Eduaction. Melissa Contrucci made the second team with a 3.80 GPA as an undergrad. She is in her first semester of graduate school at HSU.

District VI is all of the schools in Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The College Division is all of the teams in Division II, Division III and NAIA.

Dennard will go on the national ballot for Academic All-American honors.

HSU is 16-4 on the year and is ranked 16th in the latest national poll.
