Cowgirls Fall to MC

CLINTON, Miss. - Mississippi College went on a 13-2 run to start the game and finished the game with an 18-3 spurt to down Hardin-Simmons in American Southwest Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Clinton, Mississippi.

Sarah Hauk's jumper at the 13:49 mark gave HSU its first lead of the game at 40-39. HSU moved the advantage out to 59-52 at the 5:50 mark, but MC was strong down the stretch, converting 9-of-10 free throws.

Brittany Bahm gave the Choctaws a 65-62 lead at the :45 mark and MC closed it out.

Lyssa Dennard and Melissa Henley each scored 13 points to pace the Cowgirls. Natalie Jordan led MC with 18 points off the bench.

The Cowgirls fell to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in league play. Mississippi College improved to 7-0 and 5-0 in league play.
