PINEVILLE, La. - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team rebounded from its first defeat of the season to down Louisiana College 84-78, Thursday evening in American Southwest Conference action in Pineville. The Cowgirls led by 14 points at the half 41-27, but the Wildcats made a strong push out of the locker room and cut it to 49-47. However, the Cowgirls were able to push the lead back out to as many as 11 to secure the victory. Shelby Hodges led five Cowgirls in double figures with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Lyssa Dennard added 17 points, Melissa Henley had 11 and Sonya West and Lindsay Thompson each added 10 points. HSU 6-1, 5-1 will play at undefeated Mississippi College at 1 p.m. on Saturday. |
