Walker Fuels Cowgirls By Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team responded from a halftime deficit with a strong second half and ran away from the University of the Ozarks in American Southwest Conference action, Thursday night at the Mabee Sports Center in Clarksville.

Senior guard Laci Walker scored a career-best 25 points off the bench for the Cowgirls as she had a season-high 29 minutes. She added six rebounds and six assists and three steals. Melissa Contrucci had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Rachel Cisneroz had 10 points off the bench.

Mandi Carter led the Lady Eagles with 27 points and eight rebounds.

HSU is now off for 23 days when it plays at Texas Wesleyan. HSU is 6-2 on the year and 4-1 in American Southwest Conference action. Ozarks fell to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in league play.
