Cowgirls Roll By Choctaws

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team rolled to an easy 80-55 win over Mississippi College, Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex.

HSU started out the game on a 26-6 run, fueled by 10 points by Shelby Hodges. After that the Cowgirls were never really threatened as it got plenty of play from its bench.

Hodges led the way for the Cowgirls with 16 points and Lyssa Dennard had 15 points and Rachel Cisneroz and Jeni Hobbs scored 12 and 10 points respectively.

Mississippi College was led by Lacey Kennedy, who scored 14 points.

The Cowgirls have now won four straight games to improve to 5-1 on the year and 4-0 in ASC play. Mississippi College fell to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in league action. HSU will host crosstown rival McMurry on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
