SHERMAN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' fifth-ranked women's basketball team forced 20 and shot 25-for-31 from the field in the first half to take a 56-25 lead en route to a 93-38 win over Austin College, Monday evening in Sherman. The Cowgirl starters took the night off at the 14:30 mark of the second half in the easy win. Lauren Harris led the Cowgirls balanced attack with 15 points, KraTaura Buckner had 14, Veronica Jones had 12 and Hannah Jones had 11. For the game the Cowgirls shot 61 percent and forced 30 turnovers. In the second half the Cowgirl bench limited the Kangaroos to just 13 points. HSU improved to 5-0 with the win and Austin College fell to 2-2. HSU will return home for a 4:30 p.m. game against McMurry at the Mabee Complex on Saturday. |
