Dec. 1, 2003
ABILENE, Texas - Lauren Harris hit four 3-pointers to tie the Hardin-Simmons career mark at 146 as Hardin-Simmons' Women's Basketball team dropped Austin College, 68-48, Monday evening at the Mabee Complex in American Southwest Conference Crossover action. Harris had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Cowgirls and her fourth 3-pointer of the game tied her with her head coach Shanna Briggs for the all-time record. Diana Martinez had her second straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She also added five assists and six steals in 28 minutes. The Cowgirls had a rough night from the field shooting only 35.9 percent for the game and only 27.5 percent from 3-point range and 37.5 from the free throw line. The good thing is the defense was up to the task as they limited Austin College to 34 percent shooting and forced 27 turnovers. Stephanie Knudson paced the Kangaroos with 13 points and 11 rebounds. With the win HSU improves to 3-1 on the year. Austin College fell to 0-2. HSU returns to action Thursday at UT-Tyler at 5:30 p.m. |
