Cowgirls Roll Past Ozarks

Cowgirls Improve to 4-0

Nov. 30, 2002

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Hardin-Simmons' sixth-ranked women's basketball picked up a convincing 71-41 win over the University of the Ozarks, Saturday in Clarksville.

The game was a rematch of the American Southwest Conference final played in Clarksville in February of last season.

HSU led just 33-25 at halftime, but a 10-0 rally fueled by six points by Laura Ricci out of the locker room gave the Cowgirls a 43-25 lead at the 16:55 mark of the second half and HSU never looked back.

Ricci took advantage of an UO double-team of Kendra Anderson to score 16 points. Anderson beat the double-team for 16 points. Senior Sarah Allen had a team-high 17 points off the bench.

The Cowgirls improved to 4-0 on the year and Ozarks fell to 2-2 on the year. The crossover game does not count in the ASC standing s.

HSU will return to action Monday, when it plays at Austin College at 5:30.
