Final Stats

LONGVIEW, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team jumped out to a 13-0 lead and were never threatened in a 79-55 win over LeTourneau in American Southwest Conference action at Solheim Arena in Longview.

HSU led 13-0 four minutes into the game and led 38-24 at the break. HSU used a complete domination on the defensive end to gain the big lead. HSU outrebounded LeTourneau, 61-37 and limited them to 24.2 percent shooting in the game.

The Cowgirls pulled their starters with over 11 minutes remaining in the game and had a balanced attack that saw three players scored in double figures and nine players scored six or more points. Melissa Contrucci led the Cowgirls with 12 points and nine rebounds. Rachel Cisneroz had 11 points and Sarah Hauk had 10.

Kristen Baskin had 19 points to pace the LadyJackets.

HSU improved to 3-1 on the year and 2-0 in ASC play. LeTourneau fell to 2-3 on the year and 0-2 in league play. HSU will host Louisiana College on Thursday at the Mabee Complex.
